Buddhist Caves

Photographs were taken by John Gollings in March-April 2005 as part of the Kashgar Project, Monash Asia Institute. This sub-collection contains images of The Grotto of the Three Immortal Buddhas, believed to date to the Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). The Grotto of the Three Immortal Buddhas is located ten kilometres from Kashgar, on the road to Torugart Pass.
